The list of destinations and guides I have listed are without a doubt the very best I have experienced in my travels. To reach this list I have a strict set of requirements that each guide must achieve before I put my name to them. Such things as experience, local knowledge, fishing techniques, equipment, safety, insurance and past successes all make up part of the criteria. These guides are of the highest integrity and I know will ensure you have a fishing adventure of a lifetime. Clearwater Lodge, Melville Island, Darwin – I must admit this is one place I just love to visit time after time and for good reason. Not only do you have outstanding estuary fishing for Barramundi, Mangrove Jacks and big Threadfin Salmon but the blue water action can be awesome with acres of Spaniards, Long tail Tuna, Queen fish, Trevally and all the reef species you would expect.To top it off no lodge in the country has better food. That’s a big call but believe me when I say that the food is simply outstanding. It puts most top Sydney Seafood restaurants to shame. Gary Wright Sport Fishing – Cape York Qld – Gary is without a doubt the most knowledgeable fisherman I have ever met. I have learnt so much about history, the tides, moon fazes and of course fishing from Gary. I have literally fished with dozens of guides throughout the world and Gary is a world-class angler, guide and a true gentleman. He will give you an adventure you will always remember and can organize your entire trip for you.Cape York Peninsular is a dynamic fishery with massive numbers of pelagic fish moving through the Torres Straights at various times of the year. I have had extra ordinary sessions on crazed Long Tail Tuna with the largest at 26lbs and amazing Queen fish and GT action in the mouth of the Jardine River in less than a metre of water. The estuary systems are also good with the typical species on offer including Barra. I have traveled to Cape York 6 times now and have had an excellent time on each visit. Nomad Sport fishing Adventures QLD – These guys are at the top of the food chain when it comes to Sport Fishing in this country. Damon and his team run a slick operation with great food, comfortable accommodation and very good service on board the mother ship – however it’s the extremely remote locations they travel to that give them the edge and the outstanding results. Some of the fish these guys encounter are ridiculous. 100kg + Dogtooth Tuna, 50kg + Giant Trevally, 20kg + Coral trout, 50kg + Wahoo and enormous Marlin to name a few. The crazy thing is that all these massive beasts are in plague proportions so you catch them all day, everyday.I am very excited about the new series we are shooting with these guys in conjunction with Rapala. Mills Charters WA – Mills offers several charters in Perth WA but the one that I have experienced involved massive Samson Fish to 50kg. The guys at Mills have a very experienced team and the boats are large and first class. If you have never tried Jigging or are a seasoned Jig man you will love fishing these grounds. These fish are big and very strong and will test you and your gear to the max. Aussie Fish Estuary Adventures NSW – I have never in my travels met a keener angler than Stuart Hindson. Situated near Narooma on the South Coast of NSW, this bloke is a mad keen fisho that’s also an awesome guide. Not all good fishermen make good guides but Stuie is the exception. Not only is he a talented soft plastics man he will find the fish come hell or high water. If a tranquil estuary system with spectacular scenery and monster Flathead is you idea of a dream fishing adventure, Stuart is your man. With many other species on offer like Bream, Trevally, Salmon, Tailor and Estuary Perch a day on the water with Stuie is normally a great days fishing.Check out the link – www.ausfishing.com.au
